Acceptance is the only way x

2008-Aug-16
Now, i'm all for acceptance, and all that, but i'm always going to be distracted from what i'm doing, at 10am, in The Co-op, when two huge gay gothic guys, one of which, is walking the other one around on a dog lead, whilst looking at the ornaments in the isle next to me, start to talk about interior design and curtains.

I must admit, I stood and stared for a while, they noticed, I could have quickly diverted my eyes.........but it's two gay gothic guys, one of which is walking the other one around on a dog lead!!! You don't see that kind of genius every day. You may shake your head at my apparent lack of acceptance, but if you happened to see two corpses walking around the co-op looking at homeware, you'd do the same!
I want to know how conversations in their household go....

"Can you please stop the sacrifice of the virgin, and find your lead? We've got to go co-op."
"FINE! Don't blame me if she escapes from the dungeon whilst we're out."
"She's shackled to the roof, and the power and fury of Satan will keep her in her place until the time comes to bathe in a bath of her blood. How about I treat you to a dog ornament for the mantlepiece whilst we're out ok?"
"That'd be beautiful, and when we've finished eating her charred flesh, can we think about changing these curtains, to be honest, they just look a bit worn down, what will the neighbours think?"

Why the fuck is he on a lead? Will he run away if he's let loose? My aunts dog does that, at the park, runs into everyones picnic area, sticks his nose in their food. If that's what this Goth dude does, then perhaps therapy is the best option. Perhaps he just goes mad at cats and the postman and needs to be restrained? Perhaps he just can't help shagging peoples legs?
I was tempted to throw a stick, just out of curiosity.
I wanted to follow them around for the day, to see if he'd piss up a tree.

I stood staring for ages. Do you know when you're a kid at christmas, and you get a new toy, that you just want to stare at and play around with forever? That's how I felt! I wanted to go up to them and poke them, I wanted to ask them all sorts of questions. It was like Christmas. They looked at me as if i'm just one of those evil judgemental people, that pushed them to the dark side in the first place. And now they're unique, and i'm merely one of the crowd, a sheep. But hey ho, at least I don't look like a bit of a cunt. A dead cunt at that.

The amount of metal lodged in their faces was amazing. Anything you can get pierced, they had pierced, twice. I wanted so badly to walk past them holding a magnet.

Besides the human sacrifice, the Satanical practices, the flesh consuming, self-harm because the World is against them, the devils horns growing from their heads in the middle of the night followed by the howling at the moonlight, bathing in the blood of a hundred victims, the sleeping in coffins, and the lamp shades made out of body parts, i'm sure they're supremely nice people.

I love everyone the same.
Except fat people.
And Goths.
And the gays
And foreigners
And the elderly
And the disabled
And black people
And midgets
And women with small breasts
And Jews
And people whose eyes are too close together.
And children
And women who think they can leave the kitchen without asking permission
And Brummies
And Yanks
And anyone who looks slightly different.
And any kind of ethnic minority.
And Santa
Apart from that, I love everyone equally x. Especially Nazis.

I -so- want you to be being sarcastic here... I think it's ridiculous how goths are stereotyped as satan-worshippers and all that shit. It's a fashion statement, like baggy jeans or mini skirts or high heeled shoes. Also, for the record, some people just -like- being led about on a lead. It makes them feel loved.

I would like to add that 'some people' does not include me.

yeah, you know what? I'm kinda with Jamie on this one. I don't know about all the sacrificing virgins and stuff, but there are some fashion statements that are fashion statements, and then there are some fashion statements that are a way of shouting to the world "HEY, LOOK AT ME! I'M TRYING VERY VERY HARD TO BE INTERESTING!" and I just kind of pity those people. But if you're going to dress in a shocking way, then you really have no right to get all indignant when people are subsequently shocked. I don't have anything against Goths, per se. In fact, I often like the look when it's done well. But if you're going around wearing a leash, your image isn't about your SELF image anymore. You're trying to create an impression on other people, specifically strangers, to which I say "get over yourself." Dressing funny doesn't make you genuinely different, or a rebel or anything. It just makes you a posturing douchebag who worries way too much about what kind of first impression he makes and what people think of him.

But then, I get pissed off at people that have loud conversations on their cell phones on public transit, too, so maybe I'm just generally intollerant. Fuckers.

Didja hear about that incident lately where a couple (male and female) got onto the bus and one of them was leading the other on a leash and the bus driver wouldn't let them on? Hehe. I think the bus driver had to offer them a formal apology.

Ah well, it seems I'm one of the exceptions.. actually a couple of them, so you don't love me equally. I leave my kitchen whenever the hell I please, I'm a Yank and uhm, a little on the heavy side (but losing weight, so that won't qualify me for long) :p Maybe you don't love me equally, but does this mean you love me MORE? ;p
