Tue-12-Aug-2008 - MSN Messenger WormPosted by Welsh Pixie |
I got a message from a trusted friend on my MSN list yesterday that was a link that had my screenname in the URL. When I clicked on it, it took me to what appeared to be a pay-per-click advertising service and required me to log in. I messaged back asking what the link was but got no reply, so I didn't log in to it.
Earlier today I got a message that said friend didn't send me anything and that there's a worm going around.
Sooo if anyone uses MSN Messenger, don't trust any suspicious looking links.
The link I got sent was:

P.S. I is off work with teh illz. :( (Flu-like symptoms without the runny nose or cough, heh) |

Sat-9-Aug-2008 - My Buggy FriendsPosted by Welsh Pixie |
Here's one I found yesterday:

And here's one of my smaller stick insects:

I has four stickies, and the biggest one is about 6' long. The one in the photo above was TEENY when I got him - about half an inch, and he'd lost a few legs through being so small and frail - but he's grown them back now and he's about 3' long, hurrah! |

Sat-9-Aug-2008 - I Maded A FunnyPosted by Welsh Pixie |
We (me, Ewan, Murdoch) were sitting in the bar of the theatre having a drink (not me) before going in to the screen (TDK, again). There was a seagull outside that looked like it wanted to get in. It was a herring gull:
Murdo said, "Why does it look like it's wearing lipstick?"

I said, "Maybe it's a she-gull.
AHAHAH! I crack myself up. ^.^
Some guy in the row behind us kept talking through the movie. Not whispering - outright talking. Stupid stuff like "ah he's fucking psycho!" and "why is the movie so fucking long?".
When the film finished and they got up to leave, there were five of them, and they were quite tall and beefy. I said, reasonably loudly, "I'm trying to work out which one of them's got the speach impediment and can't fucking whisper!". They turned and looked at me, and I glared back at all of them, and they walked off. Which is good, for them, because I didn't want to have to punch their nuggets in the middle of the cinema, y'know? ^.^ |

Fri-8-Aug-2008 - For The Sake Of ItPosted by Welsh Pixie |
Don't have much to say but I'm bored ;p
It's cold in the office. In AUGUST!! Stupid Scotland. But then, last week I was complaining that it was too hot and stuffy, and this is what you get when you complain!
Also I'm the only one here (one's on holiday, one's off sick) so it's quiet. Nicely so - not complaining about that.
Going to see TDK again tonight with Ewan and Murdoch. Hurrah!
My lip gloss tastes of cherries which made my nunchy cruts taste mildly of cherries which was weird but not unpleasant. ^.^
I want to do more writing but I'm too cold, if that makes any sense. My hands are slightly aching and my back and shoulders are shivery. I've put the heater on though so hopefully it'll warm up here soon.
Over and out! |

1) Take teabag and mug into kitchen.
2) Put teabag on top of microwave, turn kettle on, rinse mug out.
3) Dry mug with paper towel, put paper towel in bin.
4) Pick up teaspoon from shelf near bin, which is also near coffee jar.
5) Take lid off coffee jar, put teaspoon of coffee in mug.
6) Replace coffee jar, return coffee mug to kettle, which rests on top of microwave.
7) See teabag on microwave.
8) Facepalm.

Wed-6-Aug-2008 - What Happens in the Real WorldPosted by Welsh Pixie |
Conversation at the bus stop this morning:
Me: We're being watched...
Ewan: By who?
Me: Two guys in the van behind you.
Ewan: SPIES!!!
Me: Esh!
Ewan: KGB!!
Me: Oh noes!!
(a few minutes pass and the guys get out of the van)
Me: Fishpuss, they're getting out!
Ewan: They're coming to get me, Pixie!
Me: Is okay, I'll punch 'em in the nuggets ^.^
Ewan: *loud guffaw, then sheepish look up and down the street to see if anyone heard his outburst of laughter* |

Wed-6-Aug-2008 - Not Today, AhabPosted by Welsh Pixie |
The whale died last night :( They think it was just because he was old and his time had come. Poor whale. When they originally spotted him in the firth a few days back there was another whale with him, but that one managed to get back to deep water and lived to swim another day.
Last week, Ewan's mum brought me a couple of small notebooks and a couple of nice, thin ballpoint pens with gold trim and pretty patterns. A white one and a black one, twist-tops. Slender and shiny. Inspiring. I've set myself the challenge of filling one of the notebooks with writing. I don't think I've ever managed to fill a notebook - not for lack of writing, but because I always find new and empty pages more inspiring than starting something in the middle. These little notebooks are only a quarter the size of an A4 piece of paper, though, and not particularly thick.
We'll see.

Tue-5-Aug-2008 - StarbuckPosted by Welsh Pixie |
It's a sperm whale - 45 feet - they think it's either had a 'navigational error' or it's ill and has come to shallow water to die. It'll be sad if it dies there, but that's life.

Tue-5-Aug-2008 - So-Long, And Thanks For All The FishPosted by Welsh Pixie |
Turns out it wasn't a dolphin I saw yesterday. I knew it was something bigger than a seal and dolphins are common in the firth.
It was a whale - I don't know what kind - but there was one swimming around there looking as if it was going to beach itself but it didn't. ^.^
Autumn is coming. I can't see it yet, but I can feel it on the horizon. I'm excited. Autumn is an inspiring time of year.

Mon-4-Aug-2008 - ArmadillosPosted by Welsh Pixie |
Always good to start the day with a bit of dolphin-spotting! I see the firth every morning from the bus on the way to work and usually it's quiet, but this morning there was a dolphin splooshing about. They don't often venture so far up into the firth either - a lucky sighting ^.^
Not to mention seeing a seal in the river last week. My mum and I followed it up and down a bit, but it was too dark to take photographs. I have some photos from last week on my camera phone to upload but so far I haven't been un-lazy enough to plug the bluetooth dongle into my PC. It's all of two feet away on the coffee table, but who cares? ;p
Saw Kung-Fu Panda yesterday. It was fun. The Kung-Fu bits were surprisingly awesome for being executed by a bunch of animated aminals. ^.^

Fri-1-Aug-2008 - Chattin' with the EFX crewPosted by Welsh Pixie |
Go here -
http://psyphen.efx2blogs.com/
Follow the instructions.
Note - if you need to download .net framework, make sure you get version 1.1, NOT the most recent version 3.5.
There is some kind of glitch with the program not working on all systems, but it worked fine on mine.
When it's installed, just click the icon and it connects you automatically to the right channel. Hurrah! |

Fri-1-Aug-2008 - Decapitation on Canada BusPosted by Welsh Pixie |
http://www.edmontonsun.com/News/Canada/2008/08/01/6323876-sun.html
It's an absolutely insane incident.
I'm inclined to ask, though - who's the craziest? The one man with the knife who randomly started stabbing the passenger, or the other THIRTY PEOPLE ON THE BUS WHO LET HIM DO IT?!?
I can't express how much I hate this sheltered thinking, where a situation occurs to a group of people and each one of them only has thoughts about saving their own skin - it's only ME here, I'M at risk, I have to get ME out of here - without realising that they're in a group that severely outnumbers the perpetrator.
If even the people in the seats immediately surrounding this guy - so that makes two in front, two behind, and the three rows on the other side - 10 people - grabbed him as soon as they saw the knife and realised what was happening, they might have stopped him in time to save the victim's life. Sure, a few of them might have been cut up in the process - but isn't it better to try? Isn't it better that a few people are injured than one person dying so horribly?
Society is nurturing selfish fucking cowards. |
